This tutorial will help you setup and configure your Ios Ips (Intrusion Prevention System) using SDM in less than 10 minutes.Cisco SDM is a web-based configuration tool that simplifies & eases router and security configuration through smart wizards , which help customers quickly and easily deploy , configure , and monitor a Cisco router without requiring knowledge of the command-line interface (CLI) .

I will walk you through the process to download IOS IPS signature package using SDM Auto Update feature, launch IPS Policies Wizard to configure IOS IPS and verify IOS IPS configuration .

NOTE : You will need 12.4(15)T3 and later release Cisco IOS version in order to configure IOS IPS using Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) version 2.5.
