By default, Cisco IP communicator has an internal built-in web server .This can reveal important information like Directory Number, Model number, Device Network settings, Cisco Call Manager settings etc..which you might not want others to know about. Secondly , you might have configured your machine for Web Server (like in case of Microsoft IIS) and you might want to disable CIPC web server .

You will need to tweak windows registry settings in order to disable web server for CIPC . This tutorial will help you accomplish this goal.

    Steps to disable the internal web server on Cisco IP Comunicator version 7.0.6.

    1.- Switch off Cisco IP Comunicator.
    2.- Open C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco Systems\Cisco IP Communicator folder.
    3.- Rename HTTPService.dll to _HTTPService.dll
    4.- Switch on Cisco IP Comunicator

    Check http://localhost/ the internal web server is not there anymore.
